Torchy's Tacos

A Williams family favorite when it comes to local Austin food is Torchy's Tacos. Our favorite location is in a food trailer park on South Lamar. Torchy's has some of the best breakfast tacos in town and great tacos for lunch and dinner. When we eat at Torchy's it's also an opportunity for us to use our "Go local" card which gives us 10% off our total purchase. Sean orders the "Dirty Sanchez" which is scrambled egg and guacamole. Jenna orders the "Fajita Chicken."

Video Blog #1: Apartment, Work, & School

So we're trying out "video blogging." This way instead of reading what we have to say you can watch and listen. We figure it will be much more engaging. We will try to keep the videos short and to the point!

First "Bump" Picture!

Here's my pre-bump picture at 4 weeks pregnant:

Here is my tiny beginning of a bump at 13.5 weeks:

I'm so excited to be a mom to this little one! At 13 weeks, our baby is about the size of a peach (2.9 inches) and only weighs about .81 ounces. He or she is getting closer to normal proportions, with his or her head only being 1/3 the size of his or her body. He or she is developing teeth and vocal chords right now. I haven't gained any weight yet, which is amazing considering my belly is starting to poke out. We have our next doctor's appointment on the 25th, but before then I'll update again about how I've been feeling so far and how our first doctor's appointment went!

A very special Mother's Day announcement!

Family and friends,
 We have some exciting and amazing news to share with y'all! We are very pleased to announce to you that.... we are pregnant!

There is a little Williams' baby on the way.  We consider this baby to be a wonderful gift from our God. The psalmist declares:

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
        the fruit of the womb a reward.
    Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
        are the children of one's youth.
    Blessed is the man
        who fills his quiver with them!
    He shall not be put to shame
        when he speaks with his enemies in the gate
."
(Psalm 127:3-5 ESV)

We are currently 13 weeks pregnant. We have seen the doctor once and we will find out if the baby is a boy or girl in June. Our due date is November 9th.

We appreciate the great friendship, love, wisdom, and grace that all of you have gifted us with over the many years. There are two great ways in which all of you can be of help to us. First of all we ask for your prayers and support in these things:

  • Pray with us and ask God for a healthy baby (Psalm 107:19-21)
  • Pray for us that we may able to believe God when he says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in your weakness." For assuredly there will be moments of weakness, disappointment, complications, and all kinds of hardships. Pray for us to be reminded God is sufficient for our needs (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).
  • Pray for our parenting. We have much to learn and are in need of much wisdom for how to love and teach our child in the way of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6).
  • Finally, please pray for our child's soul and eternity that he or she would love Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Ask God that He would shine in their heart to "give the light of the knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ" as he has in ours (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Second of all, you can support us by sharing in the joy and excitement that we feel because of God's gift. Celebrating through joyful conversation, with us and others, what God has done and is doing will be a great blessing from y'all that we know we can count on.

One great way you can share in the excitement is by regularly visiting this blog! Here we will share frequent photos and updates on the pregnancy, baby, future life-decisions, and many other stories. To keep up with the blog, make the link a "favorite" on your web browser or you can even submit your e-mail on the blog website to receive via email each new "post" we produce.  Of course you can always e-mail, call, or have a meal with us to share in our excitement together!

We are very much looking forward to someday introducing each of you in person to Baby Williams.  He or she will be a joyful addition to our family and a joy to all at future family holiday gatherings, get-togethers, and beyond. We feel blessed beyond what words can express to be having this baby. God, our Father, is so faithful and good! We invite all of you to sing praises to our God with us because of how great he is and what he has done.

With joy,
Sean, Jenna, & Baby Williams

    Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
        sing the glory of his name;
        give to him glorious praise!
    Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
        So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you.
    All the earth worships you
        and sings praises to you;
        they sing praises to your name.” Selah
    Come and see what God has done:
        he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
(Psalm 66:1-5 ESV)
